Club Rides

Visitors, as well as members, are welcome to participate in any of our group rides.

(We do require helmets, a signed waiver, and a safe riding attitude.)

During the Spring and summer ride season details are posted on the Events page of this website.  Short advance notice rides, and changes to or cancellations of rides will be sent by the Ride Leader via the Yahoo email list.

During the "Off-season"  ride leaders send notice of their rides via the Yahoo email list only.

To receive these emails you must be part of our Yahoo email list.  A link to join can be found on this websites homepage.

Reminder: It is considerate to contact the ride leader if planning to ride. The ride leader is not obligated to show up at the ride start if no one contacts them prior to the ride. Ride leader contact information can be found with the ride listing on the event page.

Each rider is responsible for his/her own safety and the safety of the group.  If unsafe behavior is demonstrated the ride leader will address the situation. Helmets are mandatory on all Sussex Cyclists rides.  All riders are to Sign-in and complete the emergency contact information on the club Waiver of Liability form at the start of each club ride.

Ride Speed Categories:

Ride leaders are responsible for setting the category as part of the posting of their ride, and adhering to that category during the ride.

Ride participants are responsible for understanding the category and being able to meet the speed and distance requirements associated with the category of ride they are on.   The ride speed are the average Rolling (moving) speed of the ride.  Wind / Hill conditions can allow for slightly higher or lower speeds as the ride progresses.  The no-drop and ride as a group policies of the club take precedence over speed considerations.
